At Waterfront Nursery, we cater for children at various stages up to 5 years old.

The Nursery comprises of; 2 baby rooms, tweenie & toddler room, Ante-Pre and Pre-school rooms, as well as an impressive outdoor play area and additional activity areas.

Through our child-centred approach, we have developed a curriculum for the under threes, based on the ‘Pre-birth to three’ framework. For children aged three to five, we follow the Scottish Executive’s ‘Curriculum for Excellence.’ We can also provide places for children with additional support needs. * see under Learning and Development

Babies

3 months – 18 months
The baby rooms provide warm, homely and caring surroundings, with lots of close adult contact to ensure children remain calm and content. Nursery staff encourage babies to crawl, stand, climb and walk by introducing interesting and stimulating activities to support the development of the five senses.

Tweenies

14 months – 24 months
The tweenie room offers a welcoming environment for young children. Each child is treated as an individual in line with the ‘birth to three’ framework. Nursery staff devise a wide range of exciting and stimulating experiences to meet each child’s individual needs.

Toddlers

22 months – 30 months
The toddler rooms offer a welcoming environment for young children. Each child is treated as an individual in line with the ‘birth to three’ framework. Nursery staff devise a wide range of exciting and stimulating experiences to meet each child’s individual needs.

Juniors

28 months – 39 months

Ante Pre-school

35 months – 3.5 years
The ante pre-school rooms provide an enjoyable environment where each child can develop their social, emotional, physical and intellectual skills. The Nursery has carefully planned areas within the ante pre-school rooms, such as drawing, music, the house corner and the story corner, which allow your child to grow in confidence and independence while gaining valuable learning experiences.
 

Pre-school

3.5 years – 5 years
The pre-school room offers each child a balance of structured and free choice activities. Staff encourage children to be independent and responsible for their own learning by expressing their personal choices. The Nursery uses a Curriculum for Excellence’ as the basis for developing your child’s skills and learning and an individual learning plan is devised for each child.
